Well then. Moving on.
Very excited about this week’s show. I like to go into it a lot because it makes him wildly uncomfortable, but Nick Spencer is the reason this podcast exists, this newsletter exists, and starting early next year a bunch of new comics exist. So we’ve tried to have him on the show a bunch and he’s big-timed us a bunch. But no more! We are nothing if not annoying and he finally gave up.
If you’ve never read any of Nick’s books I would really recommend some of his wonderful creator owned series like THE FIX, MORNING GLORIES, EXISTENCE 2.0, BEDLAM, FORGETLESS, SHUDDERTOWN, or INFINITE VACATION. He’s also written some great stuff at Marvel, DC, and Archie I guess.
which he makes with the amazing Mike Huddleston, the spectacular Mike Del Mundo, and friendly neighborhood Jonathan Hickman. If you haven’t been following along with their Substack you’re missing not only one of the most impressive pieces of sci-fi world building in a long time, and one of the most fascinating experiments in pulling back the curtain on storytelling, but you’re also missing out on some wildly good comics. But have no fear latecomers, because right now you can get their upcoming graphic novel, a whole bunch of their books, or you can ever get everything they’ve made so far, all in beautiful hardcovers, delivered right to your door!

I don’t really know what he’s doing, but he’ll be there. Bring him copies of 4 KIDS WALK INTO A BANK, WHAT’S THE FURTHEST PLACE FROM HERE?, DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, or if you want to get on his good side, DEAD DOG’S BITE. And bring him an M&S White Chocolate Milk in my honor. He won’t want it, but make him drink it anyway.
