I am actually excited to have Ethan and Griffin as guests again because they’ve spent the past year working their asses off making a ton of new stuff that is all amazing and a bunch of it is coming out now. The first one you should be telling your local comic shop that you want to buy is their new creator owned series from Boom! Studios BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT. It’s out August 6th. Which means final order cutoff is June 30th, so tell your comic shop you want it now!
And while you’re there you should be telling them you want GODZILLA: ESCAPE THE DEADZONE from IDW. Do you like Godzilla? Awesome. You’ll love this one. Not a fan of Godzilla? Who gives a fuck. You’ll love this one. It is ALSO out August 6th. Which means final order cutoff is ALSO June 30th, so tell your comic shop you ALSO want it now!
But that’s not all. They also wrote the upcoming GREEN GOBLIN #1 from Marvel. These guys were basically genetically engineered in a lab to make Spider-Man comics, so this isn’t one you can miss. If there is any justice in the world Ethan and Griffin will be writing Amazing Spider-Man one day, so get a small taste of what that will be like here. On sale July 2nd.
And lastly (finally), they are also writing the just announced MARVEL ZOMBIES: RED BAND series for Marvel. Awesome. Issue #1 out September 17th.

If you’ve never listened to John’s show you’re missing out on some of the best conversation around comics. I believe you can tell a lot about an art form by looking at its critics; and comics is infinitely richer for having a show like Word Balloon that takes the medium seriously and gives creators a platform of real value.
Recently John announced that he’s been ill and he could really use a bunch more people supporting the show on Patreon. I am a supporter so I can say that I recommend it with my whole chest. Not only do you help a great person and a pillar of the comics community, but you get lots of bonus stuff like being able to participate in the Bendis Book Club! Amazingly worth it.
For cheaper than a single comic a month you can help out a good guy and get yourself some good stuff in the process. I mean seriously, you are listening to our fucking podcast? My cohosts were our “special guests” this week. Prove that you have some standards by supporting a great podcast and making your life better for it.
