WELCOME BACK TO IDEAS DON’T BLEED!
This week, we’re joined once again by Rick Remender (Deadly Class, The Holy Roller) as we discuss his comics origin story, finding inspiration and positivity during dark times, creating books like The Seasons for his imprint Giant Generator, and more!
IDB is an all-new weekly podcast presented by Ashcan Press and featuring Matthew Rosenberg, the Supple Boiz, and wonderful guests from the world of comic books!
Our theme song is “Where’s the Poison” by Summer People.
Enjoy!
Here we are. Part II of our chat with the best punk rocker in comics, Rick Remender. While you listen I urge you to duck over to Rick’s publishing imprint, Giant Generator, and look around. So many amazing titles like DEADLY CLASS, FEAR AGENT, TOKYO GHOST, SEVEN TO ETERNITY, LOW, BLACK SCIENCE, A RIGHTEOUS THIRST FOR VENGEANCE, THE SCUMBAG, THE SACRIFICERS, DEATH OR GLORY, THE LAST DAYS OF AMERICAN CRIME, THE HOLY ROLLER, and more. You can even buy yourself some books right here.
And while you’re supporting Rick’s stuff, ask your local comic shop to to subscribe you to Rick and Daniel Acuña’s new Image Comics series ESCAPE, which will be in comic shops August 20th. Easily one of my most anticipated of the year.
Over on your #2 favorite comics podcast*, David Harper welcomes some familiar faces. That’s right Ethan S. Parker and some other guy showed up to discuss their upcoming books like GREEN GOBLIN #1, GODZILLA: ESCAPE THE DEADZONE, and BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT.
It’s a very fun interview and well worth a listen. I am always in awe of how good an interviewer David is and how he brings out the best in his guests. That awe is only increased by his ability to get Griffin to actually come on his show. Truly he is the best podcaster.
Anyway, give it a listen here and get excited about Ethan and Griffin’s new books. They’re going to rule.
* I know. I know. I just pretend you like us more to make myself feel better, okay? Just let me have it.
Anyway, that’s it for me.
Stay safe. Take care of each other. Can I pretend we’re in your top 10 favorite comics podcasts?
