Friend of the newsletter Charles Soule has something very cool going on. His excellent Image Comics series CURSE WORDS with the great Ryan Browne is an amazingly fun book. If you didn’t read it, you should definitely pick up the collected edition or treat yourself to the very pretty omnibus those boys made.
But if you did read it you know it had one big problem. It was missing a soundtrack. Well Charles has spent the last couple years tinkering away at a solution and it is finally here. The CURSE WORDS Concept Album is, yes, an album of music for and about the story of of CURSE WORDS. Charles wrote it and plays almost all of the music. I was lucky enough to get to hear it early and it is wild and fun and weird as hell and the kind of thing you want in your record (or comic) collection. It has a rock opera feel, sort of a musical, but also with some indie rock influences and some classic prog-rock parts. It’s pretty wild.
