WELCOME BACK TO IDEAS DON’T BLEED!

This week, we’re joined by Mark Waid (Kingdom Come, Irredeemable) as we discuss his comics origin story, competing with your past self, his DC Comics series Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor, and more!

Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor: Waid, Mark, Hitch, Bryan: 9781799500780: Amazon.com: Books

IDB is an all-new weekly podcast presented by Ashcan Press and featuring Matthew Rosenberg, the Supple Boiz, and wonderful guests from the world of comic books!

Our theme song is “Where’s the Poison” by Summer People.

Enjoy!

I’m supposed to write a little intro for Mark Waid. What the hell is there to say about Mark Waid? Do you love a superhero? He probably had a defining run on the character. From KINGDOM COME to SUPERMAN: BIRTHRIGHT to DAREDEVIL to CAPTAIN AMERICA to ARCHIE to FANTASTIC FOUR to THE FLASH to WORLD’S FINEST to 52 to BLACK WIDOW to IRREDEEMABLE, Mark has helped shape modern comics in a way that very few people can claim. And he’s incredibly nice. Honestly, kind of wish he was a dick so it balanced out. But alas.

This was a bucket list one for us. I’ve known Mark for years and was so happy to get to catch up. Hope you like it.

Stay safe. Take care of each other. Why have I eaten so many bagels since I came home from tour?
