IDEAS DON'T BLEED episode sixty-nine | Al Ewing, part one

Chapter 144: All right. Shut up!

No transcript...

This week, we’re joined by Al Ewing (The Ultimates / We Only Find Them When They’re Dead) as we discuss his comics origins, his process, writing The Immortal Thor for Marvel Comics, and more!

IDB is an all-new weekly podcast presented by Ashcan Press and featuring Matthew Rosenberg, the Supple Boiz, and wonderful guests from the world of comic books!

Our theme song is “Where’s the Poison” by Summer People.

Hello again.

This is coming to you late because, for reasons that don’t really make sense to me now, I was on the phone until 6:30 AM arguing about movies and comics. I’m sure it seemed like a good idea at the time (it didn’t) but it sure doesn’t now (still doesn’t.)

Anyway, it is once once again time for another jaunt down podcast lane. We taped this one a while ago and have been waiting for the right moment to unleash it. Which is now! But that’s why we’re talking about the summer and the lack of British people on the show, neither of which is a thing anymore.

Our topic this week is Al Ewing so we decided to bring in an expert on the subject- Al Ewing! It’s a fun chat with one of the most thoughtful and deep-voiced people in comics. Hope you enjoy.

Never fun to have to do these, but I still believe in the “community” aspect of the comics community.

Thomas is a kind soul and the artist and co-creator on one of the true gems of 90’s comics- FORCE WORKS. He’s fallen on some hard times recently and is currently in the hospital and at risk of losing his home.

Help Thomas!

If you have a few bucks to spare, he and his family could sure use it.

That’s it for me.

Stay safe. Take care of each other. Don’t answer the phone at 4am.
