I had the warm fuzzies until the ear comment, first time on the Amtrak from upstate, hope I arrive with both ears and all my books.
As long as you don't hop off the train in the tunnels and run around you should be fine.
Visiting New York in spring for the first time. Definitely planning on spending an entire day in Central Park.
