Um. I know there's a lot more meat to this post I should probably be commenting on (cool books, for example)... but um... what is wrong with that fucking pizza. I need to understand what is happening there... is it... not cooked?
I don’t understand. Did they make your pizza, forget to put the toppings on so put them on later, and just not bother putting it back in the oven! What would happen if you asked them to put it in the oven? Speaking of sandwiches in cities that know how to cook their food… have you had Lioni’s Italian Heroes in Brooklyn? Amazing sandwiches, but also amazing names for them. Anyway, I grabbed a Dan May cover and sketch postcard directly from him. Seems a good guy.

They just cook bread and sauce and add cold toppings later. If you think is is bad don't google Altoona-Style pizza.
holy shit.
I just saw a pic of Altoona pizza before breakfast and I don't want to eat anymore

This is how they make it. On purpose. I don't know why.
I have not had Lioni's but I am aware the names. It's on my list.
And awesome. Dan is great.
Fries in a sandwich are a mistake to begin with.
Not always.
