We’re going to start with the big news of the day! My darling partners in podcast, the revoltingly named but quite pleasant Supple Boiz- Griffin Sheridan & Ethan S. Parker- have their debut comic coming out September 6th from Image Comics! The fantasy/horror series is called KILL YOUR DARLINGS and it is drawn by the amazing Bob Quinn (WAY OF X / KNIGHTS OF X) and lettered by John J. Hill (CROSSOVER / DARK RIDE).

I’ve read the first 3 issues and honestly the book is great. Like a clever blend of PAN’S LABYRINTH and I KILL GIANTS, it grabs you and drags you into this fantasy world kicking and screaming. I could talk more about it but why not just look at this gorgeous preview?

The book comes out in September so it will be available to order from your local comic shop soon. Since this is Ethan and Griffin’s first book they are a bit of an unknown quantity they could really use your help in preordering the book. So if you could call, message, or stop into your local shop and tell them you want a copy of KILL YOUR DARLINGS #1 that would be awesome. That way you guarantee yourself a cool book and Ethan and Griffin can hopefully make some money and not have to work with me forever. Save them from that awful fate!

But I can’t just send out a newsletter about other people’s stuff and not shamelessly push my own. So here goes.

WHAT’S THE FURTHEST PLACE FROM HERE? vol. 2 is coming out August 23rd! It collects issues 10-13. Some of you eagle-eyed readers may notice that vol. 1 collected 1-6. So where are issues 7-9?! Well, we wanted to try something a little different and play with the reading experience. So those of you that read in trade paperback will discover the story in a different way than those that read in single issues. Is one way better than the other? Probably.

Look, this book is really fun. Stephen Segovia draws the hell out of it. Grifter, Zealot, Deathblow, Spartan, Voodoo, Ladytron, and Fairchild are some of the most fun characters in comics. You don’t need to know anything about the WildC.A.T.S. or DC Comics to read it. And, as a special bonus for you, this collection doesn’t just contain the first 6 issues of the series, it also has a 10 page Zealot story I made with the legendary Chris Sprouse for BATMAN URBAN LEGENDS, but it also has a 10 page Grifter story I made with my Project Digital/Analog partner Stefano Landini for the WILDSTORM 30th ANNIVERSARY.
