Chapter 276: San Diego and Los Angeles and all of that...

I just arrived on the west coast for a couple weeks for work retreat / meetings / hamburgers and the airline already lost my suitcase and nobody there shows up for work until 6pm apparently. I’ll leave their name out of it but I will say I flew on a Jet and it was a primary color. Point is off to a bad start but also New York City is 1000 degrees, filled with smoke, has diarrhea lettuce and legionnaires disease, and I guess it’s now flooded. So I guess wearing the same shirt for 3 weeks is okay.

But while I’m here I figured I’d promote some comics. So starting next week you can find me at San Diego Comic Con. Yes, it’s my first con in 6 years. Yes, it’s like not standing up for 6 years and then signing up for 6 consecutive marathons. If you see me be nice to me.

Here is my schedule. Come hang out. I have at least 1 signing a day and I’m doing a signing at the amazing NOW OR NEVER COMICS in the East Village if you’re not going to the show. For all of these signings the first 10 people in line will get a special secret item from me… If I get my fucking luggage back.

I’m also on 3 panels. A very fun Image one, an interesting self publishing one from my pal Atom and his company Prana, and a panel for Black Mask that is a mystery panel. We might have something VERY COOL AND SECRET to discuss at that panel. And we might not. Not being coy. I legit don’t know.

And a note because people keep asking- I am not charging for signatures and there is no limit to what I’ll sign. You bring it and I’ll barf my signature all over it for you.

Something about saying “current writer for Spawn” makes it sound like they know I’m getting fired soon.

Since I’m out here I didn’t want to leave the folks in L.A. out of it so I’m signing at COLLECTOR’S PARADISE in Noho when I come back. Come say hey to me and bring stuff for me to sign but also bring lots of cash to buy books from my buddies Tini Howard who is launching her awesome new book SICKO and Dave Wielgosz who is supporting his excellent series SHOWDOWN.

IF DESTRUCTION BE OUR LOT… #3 came out this week. Thanks to all of you who already picked it up and said kind things. If you’re on the fence we got some pretty nice reviews over over on ComicBookRoundup.

I’m not a mathematician but those seem like good numbers. Thanks as always to the reviewers who take the time to cover indie comics. Go check out You Don’t Read Comics, Comicon, Nerd Initiative, and Fanlight Zone and support their work.

But a new issue means FOC for the next issue. If you are liking what we’re doing, or ever if you’re just thinking of checking it out, you have to tell your local comic shop this weekend. And check out these gorgeous covers.
