So funny — since June I've been doing the same thing — weekly movie theater, usually an 11am showing. It's been great. You should add Weapons to your list, go see it ASAP.

And I had the same conversation about Eddington with my buddy. When I walked out, I had no idea what I was supposed to think, but it's beautiful shot, great acting, and I'll find the meaning in there... soon...

Yeah, I am sure I will see Weapons soon. It is the best trailer I've seen in a long time.

And yeah, everything about Eddington is great. Not sure I back any of it politically.

Spot-on reviews of 28 Years Later and Mission Impossible haha, two of my favourite movies of the year. Glad you enjoyed and had some fun at the movies.

28 Years really blew me away. It was an incredibly beautiful zombie film. Who knew you could even do that?

Barely hanging, BUT I’ve been digging into more indie comics, so that’s making me happy. I’m in love with the opening sequence of the movie Weapons. Fairlife chocolate milk is still my preferred way to drink milk.

I'm sorry it's been rough. Been there too. Indie comics always helps me.

Weapons seems to be the one everyone is talking about.

I'm happy Fairlife is treating you well. I can't get down with it. Wish I could because it's everywhere.

What’s your preferred chocolate milk? Hate to hear you can’t get down with 50% less sugar and 50% more protein.

It tastes too chemically to me. It tastes like if Coke made milk. Which is what it is.

I don't know that I have a preferred. Just a lot of local places. Nationally Shamrock Farms or Trader Joe's are the best right now, in my humble opinion.

Go see Weapons!

Honestly feels like the Weapons marketing team is paying people to tell me this at this point. But it's working. I will.

I'm usually a white milk drinker, but I did have a really good hot chocolate at brunch over the weekend.

I'm looking forward to Him, and The Smashing Machine looks solid. Neither the new Arranofsky or PTA movies are super compelling to me, but I may go see them anyways just because those directors usually make interesting work. I'm 50/50 on either loving or hating PTA's movies.

Had a similar experience with Eddington as you and Nahuel also commented. I thought it was pretty good, and my best friend absolutely hated it. We talked for a good bit of time. I was just delighted to sit down and have no idea what I was in for.

Sinners and Life of Chuck have been my top two for the year, but 28 Years Later is a really strong third. I think about the scene of them leaving the island, with the poem and old film footage intercut in, all the time. There were so many cool creative things in that movie.

I got a new phone for the first time in 8 years, and just downloaded Marvel Snap last night. It is excellent and will probably become a problem for me.

This weekend I am travelling 40ish minutes out of town to go to a hotdog drive-in with a couple friends, gonna eat way too much and it will be great.

Chocolate milk at brunch is such a power move. Proud of you.

I am curious about Him and The Smashing Machine is definitely high on my list. Can't pass up a chance for a Safdie brother to make me feel anxious and terrible.

I liked Sinners a lot, but didn't love it the way some folks did. Haven't seen Life of Chuck yet. Probably should. And yes, that bit of 28 Years was so effective. The more time I spend away from that movie the more I like it.

I don't have Marvel Snap for that exact reason. Good luck.

Enjoy your hot dogs!

Thanks so much for mentioning Skin Police, Matt.

Cinema going is my main outside of the house fun activity. Saw Bring Her Back last night, which has a scene that made me squirm in my seat. All in a good horror, not quite Hereditary level but still smart and gripping with a great performance from Sally Hawkins.

I loved 28 Years Later, found it a very visceral experience on the big screen.

Of course. Congrats on the book!

Bring Her Back hasn't been on my list. Maybe I'll change that.

What I've been transfixed by lately:

Oblivion Song. I was out of comics for far, far too long and just got back into them in a major way last year. So I've only just recently discovered Oblivion Song from Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felici and was able to collect all 36 issues from dollar bins across like 12 comic shops. I just found the last issue this past weekend and have begun reading. 10 issues in, I am super digging the story and Lorenzo's expressive art. Can't wait to see where this goes. I reverse-discovered this by first following them thru Void Rivals.

Paradise (Hulu). 5 shows into this 8-episode series and I am fully engaged. The less you know about this going into it, the better. But I can at least say that there's a mystery that partially involves a US president (James Marsden) and a security guard of his (Sterling K. Brown) and is from the guy who brought us the "This Is Us" TV series.

The Future Is ****** (Reckah). Four issues into this comic series from an unexpected publisher (a cybersecurity company), I have been surprised by how engaging the story and characters are. I believe it's been planned to run a full 60 issues. So far, I see myself going the distance with this one.

I think I own all of Oblivion Song and haven't read it yet. Will move it up in the stack. But the stack is so large that it will still take me a while, probably.

Always looking for new shows and I will watch anything with Sterling K. Brown. I also like Marsden so much since Jury Duty, so this is a great recommendation.

I haven't read The Future Is ***** yet but am intrigued. I like all the folks who work on it so I will get to it eventually. Thanks for the suggestions.

+1 for Weapons.

That's like +10 at this point.
