Chapter 226: We're coming to your town...
Hey there.
Hope your weekend is going well. I’m swamped trying to knock out as much of my to do list as I can before the middle of next week for reasons that will become clear. But in the meantime there is so much going on that I’m sending out this chaotic Saturday Sunday edition of the newsletter. Buckle up. Or at least keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle.
I’m coming to your town!
Well, maybe. I’m going to a lot of people’s towns and maybe that includes you! Mathematically speaking it is actually unlikely that I am, but maybe. Let’s look.
In honor of WE’RE TAKING EVERYONE DOWN WITH US #1 coming out this Wednesday I decided to go on a little signing tour to visit a ton of comic shops I love and sign some books. And I’m dragging along Tyler Boss to promote his new book YOU’LL DO BAD THINGS #1. We’ll also sign any copies of WHAT’S THE FURTHEST PLACE FROM HERE? or 4 KIDS WALK INTO A BANK, or really anything you put in front of us.
The truth of this is we could have gone and done a bunch of conventions, where we’d get paid and our travel and hotels would be paid for, but Tyler and I didn’t want to do that. We fucking hate money. And we love comic shops. We both worked in comic shops. We met in a comic shop. And we wouldn’t have these careers we have without comic shops. So we decided we’d rather be bringing people into comic shops instead of pulling dollars away from them. So the rule is simple, we’ll sign whatever you want. There are no fees. No maximums (if you bring a ton of stuff you may have to step out and get back in line). All we ask is that you maybe pick up something from the shop while you’re there. That’s it. Come hang and support your local comic shop.
In order to help promote the tour we got our buddy Dylan Burnett (ARCADE KINGS / COSMIC GHOST RIDER) to make us this radical poster for both books. We loved it so much we turned it into a set of connecting variant covers that will only be available from us and will help pay for gas and rental cars. They are limited to 400 copies and in order to not run out we’re limiting them to 10 per signing. First come first served. We’ll also have a few of these posters printed up for sale at the signings too. Hope to see you there.
Speaking of our new book and cool exclusive covers, we did something a little different this time around with WE’RE TAKING EVERYONE DOWN WITH US. We only have allowed a very limited amount of store exclusive variants to close friends. On previous books people have grumbled about how hard we made it to collect everything. On the one hand, I appreciate the hunt so I don’t totally get that. On the other, I am obsessive by nature so I do understand how frustrating that could be.
With that in mind, other than a few (4) promotional versions for the book that went out to retailers we approved only 3 store exclusives for the book. The first 2 were just announced and are up for preorder now. Personally, I think they’re both pretty badass.

. Limited to 500 copies, he has signed and unsigned versions available right here. It’s a Skottie cover so it will most likely sell out.
The second of our store exclusive covers is this cover for our friends at Third Eye Comics. This cover is by my partner on the book Stefano Landini and is by far the rarest cover as there are only 100 copies. It is also available unsigned or signed by moi available right here. Again, only 100 copies so if you want it, you should probably move quick.
