How was today?
Some press coverage from around comics!
The mixtape! Finger point even if you don’t know the words!
Hi. I’m going to keep it short because I’m tired and sending your mailing list 2 emails in a day is bordering on a war crime.
I just want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who just signed up for this newsletter, everyone who chose to pay money to support us, and everyone who has been reading before all this stuff was announced today. I have spent an incredible amount of time working on all this, and I assembled what I truly believe are some of the best and most talented people in comics to do it with me. All with the belief that if we make cool stuff the audience will respond and support us. I bought into that idea whole heartedly and put everything behind this. I was even warned by a few people that my expectations might be too high, which is new for me. I usually expect the worst and plan accordingly. But not this time. And now, 9 hours in, I can safely say…
You all blew me away!
I had stupid, unrealistic, dangerous expectations for how this would go. And they weren’t just met, they were exceeded in ways I never imagined. So this is really just a note to say thank you. From the bottom of my heart, from the bottom of the heart of all of us making these books, thank you. We are going to do our absolute best to make sure we give you something special here.
We’re working on some fun stuff to give you for later in the week as a small token of our affection.
In the meantime watch our fun little trailer. Music courtesy the brilliant Summer People.
We had some great coverage of our announcements today that I wanted to share. If you want to read some more about what we’re doing take a look.
Bleeding Cool was first out of the gate. All of our names look pretty wild when you just list them in a tweet like that. Also, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that Rich has his own newsletter right here.

The mighty AIPT was kind enough to talk about what we’re building here.

I like this tweet from Newsarama because this is how I’d write it if I worked there.
And IGN has a piece on both our launch here and Josh Williamson’s launch. You can read that here. Didn’t feel like tweeting about it, I guess.
There were a bunch more and I will share them as I discover them. Pretty exciting and thanks to all the comics press for taking the time to talk about our little project.
This is normally the section where I drop a song in that has served as the sort of soundtrack to my week. I first heard this song when I was 13 and it changed my life. Only makes sense it should be the anthem for today too.
Stay safe. Take care of each other. And thank you again.

Question regarding the $250 level - will we have to pay postage for the rewards? I'm UK based so it just helps me make the decision of which level to join. No offence will be taken if you don't cover the postage. Some substack's do, most don't. Looking forward to all the projects regardless! Thanks.
I’m excited to see this launch. Congrats to the team!
Though I may have just been convinced by the Gorilla Biscuits. Can’t go wrong there.
